Emergency Water Line Repair Starting at 10 pm: Lower Pressure Potential
For Immediate Release
November 2, 2021

Tonight Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) crews, in conjunction with a contractor, will be performing an emergency water line repair in the area of Claiborne Avenue and Octavia Street. Beginning around 10 p.m., they will be closing down a 30” water main that supplements the water supply to the Central Business District and the Garden District resulting in the potential of lower-than-normal water pressures.

Upper floors of multi-story buildings will potentially see the most impact. Crews will be proactively monitoring water pressure throughout the city and will work through the night to hopefully have full pressure restored by morning. Customers who are experiencing low or no water pressure should always call our Emergency Call Center at 504-52-WATER; we are open 24/7 to serve you.
