Traffic Advisory: Temporary Closure of Howard Avenue at Magnolia Street to Le Rouge Street

New Orleans, La - The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) contractor, Wallace C Drennan, and their paving subcontractor, C&M Construction Group LLC, will begin paving restoration on Howard Avenue at Magnolia Street starting on Monday, October 28, 2024. This restoration comes after crews made repairs to a 30" water transmission main on Earhart Boulevard. 

Work Phase Beginning on Monday Morning, 10/28/24 until Friday 11/1/2024:

  • Location: Howard Ave between Magnolia St and Le Rouge St. 
  • Scope of Work: Paving preparations and operations.
  • Traffic Impact: Howard Ave (river bound) will be closed to through traffic from Magnolia St to Le Rouge St. Howard Ave (lake bound) from Le Rouge St to Magnolia St will be reduced to one lane of traffic.

Signage and traffic control measures such as barrels and fencing are onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians. Motorists are advised to use caution as large trucks and heavy machinery will be hauling materials in the area. As construction continues in the area, SWBNO outreach will update the public as the project progresses.
