New Orleans, LA - The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is excited to announce a significant achievement in its Smart Metering Program, having reached the halfway point with the installation of the 70,000th residential smart meter. This milestone marks a critical step toward modernizing the city's utility infrastructure and enhancing the customer experience. The Smart Metering Program is revolutionizing how SWBNO serves its customers by upgrading meter reading technology and providing greater transparency in billing. With the new system, residents gain access to near real-time water use data through a new online customer account, empowering them to better manage their water consumption and bills.
