SWBNO thanks the dedicated public servants who have served the Board of Directors in these seats: Maurice G. Sholas, M.D., Ph.D. (Council District C) and Robin Barnes (Consumer/Community Advocate). They have played critical roles in the major progress SWBNO has achieved in recent years.

Effective May 9, 2025, the Council District E Representative seat, which is currently held by Tamika Duplessis, Ph.D., will reach its term limit. SWBNO will open the application for this seat at the time of the vacancy.

SWBNO’s Board of Directors is comprised of 11 members, including the mayor, one City Council member, two Board of Liquidation—City Debt representatives, and seven citizen members. All citizen members are appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council from a list of nominees submitted by the Sewerage and Water Board Selection Committee, which includes representatives from local universities, chambers of commerce, and the Urban League of Greater New Orleans.

The Board holds committee and regular meetings monthly. These meetings are open to the public. Appointed board members serve four-year terms and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
